Our school council have been working very hard since being elected into post in October 2024. Our school council have been instrumental in raising awareness for our chosen charity St Georges Lupset, they helped spread the word about our harvest festival and encouraged peers to donate. We were very successful and donated over 14 bags of food to help those most in need in our community.
In November our year 6 school councillors supported the Royal British Legion by selling their merchandise to raise funds for our fallen soldiers. They managed to collect over two full tubs of money- amount to be confirmed by the charity.
Our school council continue to be the voice of their peers, we have conducted several surveys to make sure all our children’s voices are heard.
The councillors are doing an amazing job at helping to keep us all safe by taking part in parking patrol. If we consult the figures to measure impact we averaged at around 10-15 illegally parked cars each day to 1-2 which is a massive improvement. A big well done to the team.
Over the coming year our councillors hope to volunteer at St Georges Lupset so they can experience first-hand all the hard work that is going on in our area. What a great start to the year!

Through our School Council work it is hoped that we can develop a balance and wholeness, helping to make our community more harmonious to live in. Our School Council work will enable pupils with positive attitudes to exert a positive influence. Everyone will benefit from the work of the School Council.

Our School Council aims to prepare our pupils for citizenship by teaching them about roles, rights and responsibilities within the school system.
Class elections will be held every year so that different representatives can put forward their election speeches as well as developing the full potential of the School Council to complete tasks.
Following the School Council Meeting, School Council Members speak to their class to let them know what is going on and tell the class about the issues being discussed and what is happening next. This will encourage more children to contribute, share worries and let members know the things which could be done to improve the school. The school will record School Council Achievements on the school newsletter as and when appropriate.
