eSafety

The Internet is an essential element of 21st century life for education, business and social interaction. The school has a duty to provide pupils with quality internet access as part of their learning experience. Internet use is a part of the statutory curriculum and a necessary tool for staff and pupils. It is also our duty to ensure the children access the Internet safely and to provide children with information on how to use the Internet safely. As a part of this learning we have recently used the Thinkuknow website link below during ICT lessons to illustrate the importance of eSafety.

Cyber-Bullying

This is bullying which makes use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person and occurs mostly among young people. When an adult is involved, it may meet the definition of cyber-harassment or cyber-stalking, a crime that can have legal consequences and involve jail time. Below is a link to a document which outlines the joint policy taken on cyber-bullying within the pyramid.
